KL cops issue RM180,000 in compounds in raid on entertainment outlet


KUALA LUMPUR: An entertainment outlet owner and patrons were cumulatively fined about RM180,000 after a police raid early on Monday (May 3).


Kuala Lumpur Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Azman Ayob said in a statement the raid was conducted at Taman Shamelin Perkasa here.

“The raid, which went on until 1.30am today, saw 31 people issued summonses of RM5,000 each for conducting prohibited activities at a nightclub.

“The owner was issued compounds between RM25,000 and RM50,000 for going against the Covid-19 standard operating procedures.

“Operations such as this will be intensified seeing that cases of Covid-19 are currently increasing at an alarming rate,” he said.
