Covid-19: Johor’s active clusters now stand at 108


JOHOR BARU: Three new active Covid-19 clusters have been found in Johor, taking the total number to 108.


State Health and Environment Committee chairman R. Vidyananthan also said 369 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Johor on Wednesday (Feb 10).

“Of that number, 91 are from existing clusters while 19 are from new clusters.

The three new clusters are the Jalan Uda Utama cluster in Johor Baru, Lorong Sahabat cluster in Kluang and Jalan Kancil Waha cluster in Kota Tinggi,” he said in a statement here on Thursday (Feb 11).

He noted that Johor Baru district reported the highest number of new cases on Wednesday (Feb 10) with 187, followed by Kota Tinggi with 44 and Batu Pahat with 41.

“The total number of cases in Johor stands at 28,024 as of Feb 10, including 18,587 recovered cases and 83 deaths,” he said.

Vidyananthan also said the state government had activated a new low-risk quarantine and treatment centre (PKRC) at Pasir Gudang Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.

“The PKRC caters to stage 1 and 2 patients.

“For the time being, the centre is open only to Malaysians,” he said, adding that the centre has the capacity to handle some 1,200 patients.
